Series Review: The Carrie Diaries
Rating: 4.5 out of 5
I’m a bit late on this but I’m glad I finally had the chance to watch it. The story revolves on the life of Carrie Bradshaw, a stylish 80’s teenager/writer who got the chance to be an intern in a law office in the fabulous New York City.
To be honest, I really fell in love with the plot considering that she wanted to be a writer and God knows how I want to be one as well. Also, she had this dream of having her work published on the Interview Magazine and I also have the same dream, only, it’s to have my works published on Candy.
Carrie has a strong personality and that’s what I loved most about her. Even though she was really head-over-heels with her love interest, Sebastian Kydd, she never allowed her feelings to overpower her. She was optimistic and lively that I almost thought it was real life.
Still, there was one thing I didn’t really like because if not I would have given it a 5/5. I didn’t like how her friend, Maggie, treated sex like a candy you can give to anyone. Overall, her character was weak and I know a series or a movie or even a book is not complete without these kind of characters but I really disliked the way she ruined her friend’s happiness just to satisfy her cravings.
I’m spoiling you so I should stop. I’ll just share with you a quote from Carrie that I really like.
“I love you so much my heart hurts. Is that what love’s supposed to feel like? Pain?”
